Description

Indium is a silver gray, extremely soft, fusible metal. Melting point 156.61 ℃. Boiling point: 2060 ℃. Relative density d7.30. Liquid indium can infiltrate the glass, and will adhere to the contacted surface, leaving traces of chemicalbook black. Indium has weak radioactivity. There are two main isotopes of natural indium, one of which is In-113, which is a stable nuclide, and the other is in-115 β- Decay. Therefore, avoid direct contact as much as possible during use.

Indium ingots are mainly used for the production of ITO targets (for the production of liquid crystal displays and flat panel screens) because of their strong light permeability and conductivity. This use is the main consumption field of indium ingots, accounting for 70% of the global indium consumption. The next few consumption areas are: electric chemicalbook sub semiconductor, accounting for 12% of the global consumption; Solders and alloys account for 12%; The research industry accounts for 6%. In addition, because of its softer nature, it is also used for caulking in some industries requiring filler metals. Such as vacuum gap filling materials at higher temperatures.
